These are pictures from my paternal grandmother's side of the family. We were not as close to that side of the family, so my information is sketchy. The journaling (which is straight IRL) reads: My paternal grandmother, Cora Elizabeth Williams Garrett, was the second youngest of Henry and Sarah's six daughters. In the middle picture Cora is pictured with several of these sisters. One is surely Allie Bama, but I don't know which. Isn't Allie Bama a wonderful name? I wish I could remember her. Aside from my grandparents, Aunt Sallie (alone in the top picture; second to left in bottom two photos) is the only older relative on my father's side whom I can remember. Born in 1882, she was five years older than my grandmother, Cora. Several things stand out in my memory about her: She was so tall, straight, and thin. We called her "Aint" Sallie, not Aunt Sallie. She sent me a birthday card each year with five dollars in it. The layout design is based on a sketch by Brenda Arnall from the November 2008 issue of Creating Keepsakes.
