Silas's all seem to start out rough! That's my son's name, and he spent 9 days in the NICU before coming home for an infection after and emergency c-section. <3 Praying. Anyways, LOVE your flowers, they're absolutely adorable and the quote is perfect. Color's are awesome!!! Too precious!
fabulous lo-love that paper! I realized after I read your journaling that I held my breath until I finished and learned everyone was healthy. Very nice job journaling.
Reading the journaling on this made my heart break for your family! Having just had a new baby grandson last week, I can only imagine how scary this was. Having a baby is supposed to be such a wonderful time! I thank God that everyone is well.
P.S. Beautiful layout -- love the bling, and the hidden picture!
What a gorgeous Lo and gorgeous new baby. What a struggle though!! Will his mom be okay in the end? So many bad things happening for such a blessing to come into your lives.
Congrats to you! He is just beautiful!!! I am so sorry for this 'nightmare' of a delivery! Thank heaven everyone is ok now.... [[[HUGS]]] to you...I'm sure you must have been very frightened! I can't wait to see some fun layouts of mommy and baby Silas :-)
Love the picture lift with the journaling. such a hard time in this little ones life and without this he may never know what a gift from God he really is.
Woah! What an ordeal for mom and the new little baby. I feel so bad for her. That was a very touch and go experience. My two times with pre eclampsia were still cake walks compared to this. Of course she will be in my prayers for a long time. God was watching over her but sure gave you all a scare.
I like the way this opens to reveal hidden journaling and another photo. Sorry that your daughter-in-law went through so much, but I'm glad she and baby Silas are okay now.
oh my, made me cry, but so glad eveything is going well i hope, you are always in my prayers. such a beautiful lo, you have made fir him. so adorable.
god bless you all, hugs
Firts let me say that the page is gorgeous! Congratulations on such a beautiful healthy grandson and thank God that his mom has made it through her ordeal and has such supportive family to help her out!
Oh my goodness! I have tears in my eyes. I am so thankful that Silas' mommy is doing well. AS a birth doula, I know the complications that epidurals can cause. How wonderful that you were able to document this for Silas. It is an abdolutely beautiful page. Love the hidden pics and journaling!!!
I love these pages with the hidden extra photos and journaling! So sorry you all had to go through all this drama for her first baby......those epidurals can be so scarey!
This is my newest grandson, born June 7th. Isn't he adorable. Picture lifts for another picture and journaling. (THIS is the open view) Journaling says: On Sunday, June 7, 2009, your mommy gave birth to her first baby ~ you. She had a very difficult delivery. During delivery you got ‘stuck’ in the birth canal and it was decided to do an emergency c-section. They gave her an additional epidural but higher and instead of the medicine flowing down it went up and immediately paralyzed her diaphragm and she stopped breathing and had to be intubated. Thankfully about 10 minutes later she was able to breathe on her own. And to make matters worse, you weren’t breathing when you were born and had to be bagged to get going. This was definitely NOT the pleasant first baby experience, that’s for sure. Happily, though, soon both of you doing fine.
You came home on Wednesday, the 10th but your mom wasn’t feeling well, and had a bad headache. Early the next morning she woke up and had a seizure and vomited. Your dad called 911 and when the ambulance crew got there she had another seizure. They put her in the ambulance and your dad followed – with you in the baby seat – to Research Hospital (on Myer Blvd). He called Erica who told us, and we just jumped into clothes and took off. (It was about 6:30 am then) When we got there she was in the emergency room being worked on and while there she had a 3rd seizure, with fever and a rash on her abdomen. About 10:45 she was transferred to ICU and around noon she had a 4th seizure. This was all very scary for all of us, and there was pretty much nothing we could do but sit there. Also, thankfully that was her last seizure up to about 9 pm.
All kinds of tests were taken: blood work, EEG, spinal tap, MRI, MRA, x-ray, CT scan. She was also already on antibiotic and fluids, medication for the seizures etc. While in ICU it was determined that she got bacterial spinal meningitis - from the epidurals during her delivery.
I stayed pretty much at the hospital and your other grandma took you to your new home and took care of you during this time. When your mom got better, she had to continue IV antibiotic therapy for 14 days (but she could do this at home) and she has to take anti-seizure medication for one year. Also she cannot drive for 6 months.
What a rough start for a new little life. And what a precious little life you are. You are so beautiful and we just love and adore you so much. Welcome to the family, Sweet baby Silas.
