I really wanted to tell this story in as much detail as I could and with that came long journaling. Thanks for looking.

Journaling:
On December 8th we were all surprised by pounding on our front door, it was Kyle our neighbor two doors down. She asked us if we “heard it”? We said no and asked her what she was talking about. She then proceeded to tell us that a plane had crashed and that she was going to go take a look at it. Being that Donny is a firefighter she figured that he would want to go too, but before he got a chance to respond I jumped up and said that I would meet her there. I quickly threw on jeans and various clothes that were mostly Donny’s and I was on my way. It had been snowing pretty heavy so there was a good amount of snow on the ground, but being in a rush I didn’t think to put on boots. So there I was in Donny’s coat with my flannel nightgown hanging out below it and ready to go see the accident. . When I got to our corner on 55th St. I realized that I didn’t know where the crash had happened, but it didn’t take long before I seen the lights from the emergency vehicles that were at 55th and Central. We live about four blocks from the airport, so within a few minutes I had reached the accident. The airplane was right in the middle of Central Ave. and the nose of the plane was almost onto 55th St.. The plane hadn’t been able to stop and came crashing through the airport fence and finally stopped on the street The best way to describe what I saw, is that it looked like a movie set, it was surreal seeing a plane sitting right in the middle of a street that we frequently use. The cars around the plane looked so small in comparison to the plane itself. There was at least one car under the plane, but at that time I had no idea if anyone had got seriously hurt. We just stood there and looked on in amazement, but soon enough the police were asking everyone to please back up away from the scene, there was one man that was not being asked to move away who just sat in the snow covered grass looking almost in shock. Later I found out that he was actually driving on the road when the accident happened and also tried to help the people that were in the car that got suck under the plane. Kyle and I decided to walk back home and even though it was very cold and snowing pretty heavy we still ended up talking in front of our houses for quite a while about what we had seen. When I finally came in Donny had to help me take off my coat because without even knowing I had a few inches of snow on top of my hood. The next day we all learned that the accident had taken the of one person, a 6 year old little boy from Indiana, who was traveling with his family. This accident really touched home because it could have easily been ourselves or anyone of our neighbors in that car.
