This is for the July Pick a Quote challenge.
The hidden journaling is under the pic and can be seen when the pic is lifted like a greeting card. The journaling reads: This picture of a Dr. Pepper can and a Snickers bar looks like it's just that but, there are a lot of memories in this picture.
It started when I was a freshman in college. Every incoming college student feels stressed just from the sheer newness of everything. I did not handle the responsibilities as well as I wanted or should have.
I had moved into an apartment (by myself), joined the cheer squad, took a job, had a full load with 13 hours of classes, church responsibilities, had a then boyfriend/now husband, bills (which I did not manage very well) and let's not forget the exams and projects! That's enough to make any newly on her own croak from sheer exhaustion. And I did just that on some occasions.
On an evening (well, it was actually morning) that I was still up at 2:30am preparing a paper due at my 8am History class with Doc Haines, Rob showed up at my door holding a Dr. Pepper and a Snickers bar.
He said that he had come with encouragement.
That was the single most sweet thing he has ever done for me, and he continues to do this small but, extremely helpful gesture to this day!
I have to say that when this beautiful man surprises me at work or at home after a hard day with that cherry red can of sweetness and that caramel/peanut combo wrapped in chocolate I realize I really don't have any problems that can't be put off for a moment (or two)!

Ok, corny journaling, I know! LOL But, it made Rob smile so, I'm keeping it. :-) TFL!!
