Bill has friend in Waikiki (Jack and Bernadette) who he has been close to for a lot of years. When we were in Hawaii in March we had dinner in their house 3 or 4 times!
The first time, when we got there they had a beautiful cake for us with "Henrietta and Bill" on it. Bill laughed and got a knife and scraped off the "etta" so it said "Henri and Bill". My name has never been Henrietta - it is "Henri" after my father who was "Henry".
Were were almost through with our spaghetti when the doorbell rang and Jack left the table to answer the door. We heard him say, "Oh, your'e back from the dead!" We thought it was an old friend of Jacks and didn't pay attention.
Then in walked Elvis - in full regalia with a scarf for me. He sang "Love Me Tender" and "Blue Suede Shoes" to us. What a fun night! Definitely made memories!
"Elvis" is a professional Elvis impersonator and the best I've ever seen or heard and looks like a young Elvis! He has a regular show at one of the large hotels in Waikiki and also does a show occassionally in Las Vegas and they claim his as one of the best.
How nice to be personally seranaded by him! (He was on his way to do his show in Waikiki and stopped by to meet "perform" for us. What a wedding gift.
We were supposed to be at Jacks and Bernadettes at 5:30 but Bill called and said we would be late and Jack kept calling us but we were in traffic. We didn't know why Jack was so concerned that we get there so fast, as spaghetti keeps warm for a long time!
It was because Elvis had to do his show at the hotel and if we were too late he wouldn't have been able to stop by to sing to us!
We were so surprised we were speechless.
