This is my catch-all page for January this year. I always do a page each month with all the odds and ends that don't fit into any other lo's. This one isn't as cohesive as the calendar theme I'm using for 2006, but I wanted to use the month stamps and birthstones. We'll see how these develop as the months go. I wanted it to feel like a 'daytimer' that spilled its contents.

I stamped and heat embossed the flourishes in the corners to go with the Prima calendar stamp which is also embossed. The flower is two folded flowers with a piece of inked cardboard for the sepal with a doodled stem. It's meant to represent January's flower, the carnation.

The school notes are from the monthly newsletter -- I like to include them to remember what Cassie was doing in her classes. The photo was taken by Abby's groomer so she's looking somewhat traumatized! The scan is of the front page of my hometown newspaper. You may have seen this story on the national news -- it was upsetting while it was happening because Marc was a boyfriend of mine in high school. The little fake piece of 'post-it' I made lists the books I read in January as part of my project to read the 100 Greatest Books Ever Written.
