A little history about Louis XIV and Versailles
"It has been said that living well is the best revenge ~ As Prince Regent Louis XIV and his mother lived in the Louvre palace and were treated poorly. When Louis came into full power he chose to have the finest home ever built. He also had a tactical plan to divide the court from Paris and enclose them all into one place where he could create an environment where he ran everything and was a constant presence. He dubbed himself the Sun King, giving life and warmth to all he touched. Versailles became a lavish temple to Louis where he kept everyone fed, entertained, and under thumb. Everyone wanted to be there to participate in the worship of the Sun King. Louis' reign lasted 70 years!"

-credit is given in part to Rick Steve's Europe tour guide with some of the information... I know its not cited parenthetical - but I haven't had to do a term paper in a looonnngg while.-

paper: Bazill - Peach Glow
flourishes: Cricut - Home Accent Solutions cart
buttons & rhinestones & flowers... all came from my stash and not quite sure who/where they came from...
The picture came from an old calendar - I thought it was pretty and would go with the lavishness of Versailles :)
