I love the squares and stitching! I agree the yellow is a little too strong...I like the idea of toning down the yellow with either shadow inks or versamark...what great pics of your son! he looks so serious! lol

I have to agree...the yellow is a little to eye-catching. However, it's the top and bottom strips that bother me...the title, IMO looks good. Great job with the stiching :)

I love it. I think the squares are wonderful. When I immediately saw it I thought the title stood out too much and took away from it though. After reading other posts, I am glad I am not crazy! LOL! Is that stitching across the diamonds? That is so cool!!! Maybe try just puttiong a piece of vellum over the title? Alot of times that will soften a color just enough :)

I like the photos and the matting choices. Maybe if you put something in the center of the diamonds to break it up. I have little mirror pieces, or shaped brads might help. Good work.

Hmm, overall I really like this - I love the diamonds. I agree though - the yellow seems to be grabbing my eye more than anything else. Do you have a yellow ink? you could stamp something on it to make it have a subtle monochromatic pattern. That would probably make it a little less eye-catching because it would be less bright. I really like the photo placement and the matting! Very cool.

I think this is really cute. I am certainly no expert lol but I see the yellow first and its BIG and open…maybe toss a lil something up top and bottom to soften the yellow? Bows…or any lil thing maybe. Hope ya find inspiration!

Jenn, I think you are right.. it seems to be missing something but I'm not sure exactly what. I think maybe the title could be done a little differently. Maybe write "the big" on the top towards the left and the "present" on the bottom towards the right? You could always add some ribbon, lol! If all else fails.. add ribbon, rofl! Otherwise I think it's really cute!
