We have a large BNSF yard here and I seen this for the first time the other day with an extra long, loaded freight train. Our flat lands don't normally require power on both ends. DH said it was a good sign to see freight moving again as trains have been a lot fewer with the economy so slow. Keeping our fingers crossed.
We see a lot of coal trains here. When they are fully loaded, to make it up Beaver Hill near Wibaux, MT they need numerous engines in front and back to get them to the top. Even when empty as this one was, they needed an engine before and after the string of cars.
