SHCG: My first reaction was Wow, great way to scrap such an important location. great job letting the pictures and the emotions they evolk speak for themselves.
SHCG: I have that same bg pp, and have yet to use it because it has me stumped. I like how you paired it with the flourish pp. Don't your mats already have a shimmery sheen to them? I couldn't tell from the zoom. I really like the rounded rectangle at the bottom and can see that repeated at the top left with your metal or copper embellies inside. Then, I'd repeat once more on the page with the journaling so that you create a visual triangle across the spread. I'd also scoot the top photo up and to the right.Did you stamp that title with studio g mini alphas? Nice work. Lookin' forward to the end result.
SHCG: I agree with the others about the metal embellies, maybe some copper color brads would be great with these colors, and adding stars of some sort, die cuts or metal. Hope that helps and can't wait to see your revised LO :)
SHCG: Beautiful LO so far. You mentioned you wished to possibly add something to this LO, my suggestions are:
1. a metal (as in military)
2. a sticker or die cut of Hawaii with an arrow or star denoting the location of the monument.
3. I agree that copper or some metal brads or anchors near the pictures would enhance the LO. The metal photo corners mentioned would be good too.
Hauntingly beautiful LO.
SHCG: Pearl Harbor is such a "haunting" place. I loved seeing it but still find it weird describing how I felt there. I'd add some embellishments - maybe something patriotic?
SHCG - Lovely work so far, Amanda - excellent choice w/ the subdued, distressed pp. I agree w/ what you wrote in the LO thread, nice to keep this simple given the subject. That being said, I can also see your wanting to add something here. If this wasn't glued down, I could see adding some inking to add some oomph. But if you'd like to add something now, I could see some photo corners - either simple metal ones or perhaps ones made from darker cs, or a darker pp that coordinates w/ the pp you already have. Maybe add a block that has a quote about Pearl Harbor that is meaningful to you, in the top left or the right space between the top & bottom pics. Beautiful start to this; it's marvelous you're capturing your visit to this historic sight.
SHCG: I was also going to say something metal and coppery. Or maybe something navy-themed - a sub or ship embellishment? Yeah, I'm not much help here :)
shcg: I feel like this page could use maybe some metal embellishment -- some brads, maybe? Or you could ink the pp. I also wonder if maybe changing up photo location would help some because you have a big empty space to the top left, and that narrower space in the middle that feels out of place. Love the papers you used!
shcg: I tend to agree that it needs something in probably in the upper left hand corner. Do you have any embellies that go with it? Or maybe some kind of flowers or swirls or something up there. Pretty sure I was no help. I like the inking you did on the title.
