Photos of my grandsons - Adam and Allen- digging in the dirt. The tree was cut with the Silhouette, inked and doodled on and all the leaves were punched with an EK Success punch, inked, and doodled on. I drew the little bird and colored him with Copic markers, then used a pop dot to make him 3D. The butterfly is a MS punch with a little stickles and bling added. Papers used are MME - Dad and Me Brocade/Blue - the blue edges and the green brocade paper. The tree was cut from American Crafts - Play, and the leaves were punched from scraps. The white paper between the blue and green is heavily inked and I added brown lines that I drew with my calligraphy zig pen. I added a little tearing/distressing to the bottom. Title letters are QK - Sticky Notes...and I did a little messy inking under the title work (that's my dirt...LOL!) The quote reads:

A treasure to a little boy does not consist of money, gems or jewelry. He will find far greater pleasure in the wonder of a rock, pebble, stick or beetle.
-- Author Unknown

I've also added some journaling on the pull out tag at the top which reads:

A cup, a bowl, a spoon, a shovel, or spatula – any or all of these can provide several hours of entertainment for a little boy. When you two get together outside to play, you usually end up digging in the dirt. By the time you are tired of digging, you are both covered with that ground-in and under the fingernails kind of dirt. So, I guess you really are dirt magnets!

Thanks so much for stopping by! :D
