This is based on the august week4 monthy sketch challenge... i decided once i saw the sketch that it would b perfect for attempting color blocking! i have wanted to try this effect for a while. i will get a better pic posted soon..
i used all scrap paper!!! i decided i would cut about two to three 12 inch long strips and make them 0.6inch wide for each of my 6 or so different patterned papers.
i made a graphing-kind-of-look-grid with light pencil marks and placed and tick marked where my pictures would go on the page.
then to the fun part, i used my handmade grid to guide me as to how big/small my strips should b to leave "space" for the color blocked effect. i tried to line all my papers up in lines and for added interest used both horizontal and vertical lines in the pattern. i tried to not let any two same patterned papers "touch" each other. :)
i used a single squares up to 6 or 7 squares (on my grid) long on the entire Lo... i tred to have one square touch the bigger ones, so they wouldnt look out of place.. and i tried to stagger the heights on the diff strips...
all the pics r matted on inked cardboard and so is the title.
the title was made with my printer!!! :D the "growing" was from the font "punch label" and the "up" was from a scripty font.. (i downloaded sooo many free fonts today from www.fontspace.com... that site is AWESOME!!! )
i doodled the border on my title block, teh dots at the corners of that block, the gold flourish above "growing", and the dots and lines for journaling (which i have yet to decide wat to write)
i lastly added 5 layered flowers, rhinestones at the top left and bottom right, and my bonus gift from monthly sketch challenge on the middle picture. :)

tfl!!!
