This is a 2-page layout from my Grand Canyon book. I visited the South Rim for two days and then went whitewater rafting on the Colorado River from Lee's Ferry to Diamond Creek. This was a major thing to cross off my bucket list and was a 13 day/12 night adventure that was the most relaxing vacation ever!
This layout includes pictures of our 5th day on the river and our camp at Cremation Creek. The name of the camp is Upper Cremation (there is a Lower Cremation camp as well) and the name is VERY fitting, this was the hottest day of our trip and the warmest place we camped! I chose the red papers/theme for this reason, not only is red my favorite color but this day/night was hot, hot, hot!
I hadn't used a lot of matting in the past and generally cut pictures in circles or shapes and at minimum used decorative scissors to create fancy edges but in this book, I wanted clean corners, square pictures and lots of coordinating matting so the pictures and journaling would be the focus of the pages and so I used a set of 6 page layout templates by Paperbilities to accomplish this and give all of the pages a similar look.
