This is a 2-page layout from my Grand Canyon book. I visited the South Rim for two days and then went whitewater rafting on the Colorado River from Lee's Ferry to Diamond Creek. This was a major thing to cross off my bucket list and was a 13 day/12 night adventure that was the most relaxing vacation ever!
This layout includes pictures of the area in and around Phantom Ranch. We stopped here to 'let off' our passengers who took only the first half of the trip and were to hike out up the Bright Angel Trail and to 'pick up' our new passengers joining us for the second half of the trip. I took the entire trip so, no hiking out for me!
While we were waiting for our new passengers, I took the short hike (more like a walk) from the river to Phantom Ranch where I experienced running water, electricity, air conditioning and a telephone for the first time in 6 days!
I hadn't used a lot of matting in the past and generally cut pictures in circles or shapes and at minimum used decorative scissors to create fancy edges but in this book, I wanted clean corners, square pictures and lots of coordinating matting so the pictures and journaling would be the focus of the pages and so I used a set of 6 page layout templates by Paperbilities to accomplish this and give all of the pages a similar look.
