Many thanks to scrappinbabe for the journaling inspiration and beautiful photos. In a recent layout, she hoped her son would one day see snow. It made me smile, thinking how I would love for my children one day to see the islands.

I lifted:
scrappinbabe -- Journaling style. I love the idea of having a hopes/wishes album for the children!

Journaling says:
"When I was a little girl, I loved to hear stories about Grandma's island. The geckos. The bamboo. The beach. The family and friends everywhere you turn. I understood, as a child, what a wonderful thing it would be to go back to Guam for a little while. Like our friends in the Phillipines, there's something amazing about taking in the majesty and power of the ocean, standing on the same sand as your ancestors. I would like to do that, someday, just once. I hope one day you'll be able to do so too. You've got roots all over the world, Oliver and Ani, from the islands in the Pacific to the Steppes in Eastern Europe. One of my wishes for you is that one day, you'll seek out those roots, explore them, and cherish them. 1.2006
