So Mushroom In My Heart For You card (Imaginisce and Cricut)

I made this card at the beginning of the year for the dt at CreativeXpress.com, and I'm finally getting around to showing it here. This probably is one of my all time favorite cards I've designed and it was created with inspiration from a sheet of the mushroom patterned paper from the Imaginisce Twitterpated collection. I used a clever play on words for the card sentiment with "So Mushroom" instead of "So Much Room"... pretty proud to have come up with that (although, I'm sure I'm not thee ONLY person who's ever thought of that or used that, lol)!

I wanted to create a mushroom as the card's shape and for the life of me could NOT find a mushroom image on any of my Cricut carts. Soo I improvised by finding other images that I could put together to design my own mushroom. Through my observations I thought that a flower vase image and a ladybug body would work perfectly to transform into the mushroom's stem (vase) and cap (ladybug body). I cut both these images from the Walk in My Garden cart. I first cut the vase and the ladybug pieces out onto scrap pieces of cardstock to first use as patterns. These patterns had to be reshaped and hand-cut a bit to make them resemble the mushroom shapes more. I used a pencil to sketch in lines of where I wanted to cut on the pieces to give more rounded edges to the ladybug and to make the vase shorter and stubbier like a mushroom stem.
