The local firefighters came to Abby's school to talk to the kids about fire safety and to let them know how they'd be dressed in "costumes" when they came to help them--this way the kids wouldn't be scared. One of the guys even let the kids beat and bang on him for a minute (must be the rookie!). Then they all got to walk through the firetruck and when the firemen left they turned on the lights and siren for them. Abby thought it was "very cool"!
