Fantastic job Katherine. Love the way Dad is looking in on the background. Your journaling strikes a great amount of truth. Your daughter is beautiful.
Awesome lo! I love love love your journaling...and the photo is tdf. You really have a nice scrapbooking style. ANd yes you should do more big pictues...more impact I say!
Gorgeous! That photo is just the best and your journaling is fabulous. Especially love the way you did the title intermixed with the circles. Great job!
Wow Katherine!! Your journaling blows me away. My oldest is going on 10 too (March), so I can so relate.
I also love how you did the title, that is way cool. :)
This is fantastic!!! I really love that size photo too, i'll have to order some w/ my next order...hmmm... it cracks me up that DH is peeking out of that pic too! So cute! :) Really like how this came out...all the details are definately "working"!
Wow!!!!!! Amazing journaling, what a lovely job you did on this lo, I find it really hard to journal but think it is so important to do for generations to come yet I can never seem to pick up my pen and at least give it a try but after seeing this I just "MUST" give it a go, thank you for the inspiration and for showing this lo to us!! :)
This is definately one of the coolest lo's I've ever seen! I love the story you've told, and if the pic had been intentional it still would have been great! But the fact that you saw this pic and came up with the idea for the theme of the lo is awesome!
This was the first would-be HOF layout I created. Very simple, but it’s one of the first (ever) that I have used such a large photo on. I decided to order a number of 8x10 prints from snapfish, and I think I’m in love! I wasn’t all too excited about large photos before this layout…but now I’m really excited about creating with this size! I’m a HUGE believer in having a meaningful story on every (yes, every) layout, and I was SO excited to find that I had plenty of space for journaling and patterned paper in addition to the large photo! As for the photo…it was SO unintentional to have my DH pop in on the side, but once I had it printed I was SO excited about it as it’s so out of the ordinary for me.
Products used: patterned paper by My Minds Eye, die cut by Ki Memories, ribbon by Joann Essentials, DMC embroidery floss, Font=times new roman, letter stickers=CM & doodlebug, Canson photo corners
Journaling: Kate, as you approach the age of 10, I’m afraid you are going to have to face the reality of having your dad and me watching every move you make. Of course, we understand the fact that parenting is about teaching you how to be independent and handle yourself out in the real world...but just look at you. You are our little girl...our first child, and you are maturing at an alarming (to us) rate!
Certainly, we relish in your every milestone…adore you to bits...and we just want to make sure you are always protected, always safe. And, when it is time for you to spread your wings and fly, I will let you go with pleasure and pain in my heart. But, I’ll remember what it was like to be a developing young lady looking for a life to call her own.
But…don’t hold your dad in a poor light as he keeps this watchful eye over you always. Sure, this photo is humorous as he peeks into the frame…but I’m sure his presence will sometimes annoy you as you attempt to exert your ever growing need for independence.
Remember, after all is said and done, that we love you! And ultimately...we merely want the best for our baby girl.
Love, Mom [written: one month before your 10th birthday]
