Love this... It really does look just like Nightmare before Christmas, its what I immediately thought of when i saw it, the headstones are a great touch... awesome job!!
On first sight I thought, 'Wow, this could be a movie poster or something.' Ok...so that's what it's supposed to be. lol. It is so dead on (no pun intended). You rocked it! FAVES
This was featured when I logged in and I just had to look at it bigger and I was so happy to see it was done by you!
This is amazing and totally worth the day spent on it.
This lo is incredible! Love the homemade background, inking, and distinctive photo frame...you have that great iconic image from the movie that immediately calls it to mind...the title, background and pic all work together flawlessly. I can't say enough good things about this!!
LOVE all of the texture on this LO, and what a sad, but cute story. I can so see my Erin doing that too in a similar situation. You did an AWESOME job with this challenge!! :)
OHMYGOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, this ROCKS, BIG Time. SUper cricut work. funny story. reminded me of when Ryan asked, as we took the decorations off our Christmas tree, " You mean we have to take it back?!?" LOL
Ahhh I LOVE this. Great job on copying the movie shot! It is soooooooooo adorable. I have to lift it although I have no one melting down about a pumpkin which was so cute itself. Poor little thing! Hey I learned a new trick to do with a pumpkin that he would love, the girls too but you have to do it much earlier in their growing season.
This is an absolutely A+ page. I love love love how you did the stars and am sure I will totally steal that idea sometime. :-) I love the little splashes with the buttons. Of course your graveyard is just great. Adorable pic - love the frame. The journaling is really funny. Gotta love kids.
For Critique Group 4's challenge to use a Tim Burton movie for layout inspiration.
As soon as she listed the challenge I KNEW I wanted to do The Nightmare Before Christmas! I didn't even know which photo I wanted when I started, but when I got to looking through them... I found this one, and it all came together!
Journaling: Last October we had our own little "Nightmare Before Christmas". Apparently, our "Pumpkin King" didn't realize we were giong to massacre his subjects from the pumpkin patch! He was so upset! I'm sorry Brandon! 10/08
Details... The graveyard was done on my Cricut with SCAL software. I chalked it, and added pen work details as well as character names from the movie. The black cliff swirl was drawn freehand and sprayed with Glimmer Mist then chalked after it dried. The moon was cut on my Cricut then glimmer misted, then chalked, then stickled! The Background paper was also misted, then chalked. I drew the stars by hand and then added gems to the center. I drew the frame by hand and then cut it out in wavy lines. I spent all day on this one!
Thank you Teresa for the challenge. I had an absolute blast!
