The sun was so hot! Like walking into a furnace when you opened the door! The hotel was beautiful. The Mexican food was the best I ever had (only 1 hour North of Mexico.)
First time I’ve ever swam with ducks! We quickly learned this was not our pool; rather theirs…and who could blame them in this heat!
The sky was so blue! The sun was so bright! I stayed I one of the little “condos” – across the driveway from the main complex. We had our own private pool and walking trail – but watch out for rattlesnakes and scorpions!
I [heart] horseback riding. BEE-YOU-TEE-FULL landscaping!
Betcha didn’t know that May is the month for flowers in AZ. All the Saguaro Cacti (the state flower) were in full bloom. They only bloom for 2 days and that’s it!! June is the month for fruit. And all year long is the time for their Prickly Pear (cacti) Margaritas! Yum!
The conference was very educational ad this resort was beautiful. Although we were sort of stuck in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains, you didn’t need to leave this complex unless you wanted to do some sight-seeing (like we did.) We went to the “Tangue Verde Swap Meet” – the biggest flea market you could imagine. Sabino Canyon was really worth the 30 min. drive and the cute little “Trail Dust Town” was a lot of fun (even though it’s a total tourist trap!) Also, visiting my first Indian Reservation (Pasqua Yacqui) was very interesting. Went to their casino for dinner. Their whole village is totally self-sufficient – it was a very neat experience and we all enjoyed it!
