Today is reveal day for Stuck on U Sketches. This is a picture of my DD Dara taken when her DD Maddison was just a baby. How fortunate I felt to be able to snap such a beautiful moment of mother/child bonding. My friends who've seen this photo say that Dara must have been thinking "Oh, good, a moment to rest." They're wrong. They don't know my Dara! She has a huge heart for children and quite frankly she is never more satisfied than when she has a baby in her arms. I love this photo and it was what I wanted to scrap for this weeks sketch. It is very special to me. I added an edge to the picture in my Paint Shop Pro software to give it a more dreamy, out of this world kind of quality.

The dual borders and little rectangles in the middle of the sketch gave me quite a challenge to begin with. But once I started cutting and laying down elements, I saw that it would indeed come together nicely. I first considered doing some flowers or swirls across the rectangle but decided to use them to accent a few vellum sayings. The top one reads, "A star danced and under that was I born." (William Shakespeare.) So, I had to add a few stars in the corner cut from Home Decor. The bottom one reads, "It is not the home I love but the life that is lived there." (Elsie De Wolfe.) That is sooo my daughter and was just perfect for this page. The rectangles were also a great perch for my cute little birds. I raised a few of the rectangles with foam sqaures. The photo corner was inspired by Sandy Windsor's.

My title mat was cut from A Childs Year and "Adore" was cut from Home Decor in brown and shadowed in light blue. There is a swirl up the left side cut from Home Accents. And don't you just love the flowers I made from a scallop punch? Well, I do anyway. I hope to do a tutorial on them soon. I think they would be perfect for the top of an explosion box or gift package.
