Andrew would lift the concrete bags and show us whatever artifacts he found – and there were plenty! The Constellation was called a Woolworth Wreck because of the wide array of cargo it was carrying.
More trivia: The Constellation carried numerous bottles (for perfume, nail polish, etc.) medicinal drugs like opium and morphine, as well as 700 cases of Scotch whiskey. The US Navy did eventually salvage some of the cargo – the whiskey!
