The jars are empty spice jars with straight sides. Regarding the painting...if you turn the carousel on it's side so you can spray directly into the dividers and spray with several light coats (let it dry between each) you can avoid drips. One good thing about black paint is the dings from daily use can be touched up with a permanent black marker.
Did you have a difficult time painting in the divided sections? I'm afraid of drip marks but really want to paint mine a different color as well. This looks fabulous by the way!

This is the Making Memories Carousel I painted with black Krylon satin spray paint so it looks better in my studio. I also applied several coats of clear satin spray to help keep the surface durable. This coordinates with a painted Kaiser storage crate I use for adhesives and a water spray bottle that doesn't fit in in any of the sections of this carousel. Each section in this carousel holds tools organized in jars or containers by their function. Thanks for looking.
