Spectacle of Speed was a community event that features an icon that promotes Trumbull County's heritage with the automobile: the Goddess of Speed, a hood ornament available on the Packard car from 1926 to 1950.
This hood ornament is being transformed into statues measuring 6 feet tall by 8 feet 6 inches long. The statues is made of fiberglass and transformed into works of art by area artists.

35 Goddesses were created by artists from the area... a 36th Goddess was created by late night talk show host Jay Leno who is known for his collection and love of cars.

25 of the statues were auctioned off, the proceeds from those auctions benefited our county's Fine Arts Council, the 100 Community Foundation, and the Art Gallery's Sumerfest program.

This Goddess was designed by Shawn David Hyde, was sponsored by the Trumbull County Tourism Bureau

This Goddess entitled "Embodiment" promotes Trumbull County. The Courthouse rendered over her heart representing the heart of Trumbull County. She also highlights our local industries, technology, widlife, flora and cultural activities. The feathers are seperated into 25 seciotns and labeled as the 25 townships in the County. An Ohio State Flag is covering the Goddess' modesty.
