I wonder if you could find that craft mesh the right length? and then snip and bend it over the wire frame? you could probably spray paint it white too, to blend in....

I also have made one using pvc pipe. It just doesn't have the nice rack around it. I love yours!

I would either take a piece of cardstock and roll it up, or a piece of decorative paper rolled up like a log, cut to fit. There is also an option of finding some fine screen, like window screen from Lowes or Home Depot and make a log to fit.

an empty glass jar....pickle...jam...cheese whiz...I use these types of jars on my wine rack for my pens and such.

I glass tube like vase that is not too high. I have seen some at Hobby Lobby and at M's. Looks really nice how you painted it and added your ribbon.

What about thinner chipboard like a cereal box that you paint white to match or maybe a thicker cardstock. I think either of these would make a better base than fabric. That's my opinion~hope it helps :)
