I'm just loving all the beautiful Fabric blooms some of my favourite manufacturers have been coming out with. So I decided to try and learn how to make some of my own. These flowers are made from scraps of fabric (anywhere from 1" to 3" square pieces) I did a step by step tutorial and 'My Creative Scrapbook' on these. You can find the tutorial in the 'Tips & Techniques' section at MCS.

Kanzashi blooms are flowers that were first made in ancient times by Japanese Geisha girls. They would make these blooms to adorn their clothes and their hair. I thought as they sit nice and flat that they would make great scrapbook embellishments and are a great way to use up scrap fabrics and beautiful ribbon scraps! There are 2 basic type petals, 'round petals' and 'pointed petals' ....I give a tutorial for both of these at MCS.

And before you say it looks too hard to do.....my 11 year old daughter Chloe made the wine colour bloom from some sheer organza ribbon! You can do it too!
