Good take. We make these too, but call them Russian tea cakes. I like my moms recipe better than any other I have tried, she uses a little almond extract in hers.
Ya messin up my diet here!!!!!! My sister used to make these....we used to call them pecan balls....Mexican Wedding Cakes sound so much more sophisicated!!!!! ;o)
I wonder if CC will recognize these cookies once she sees them. Today I made Mexican Wedding Cakes. They have many names of course..another popular one is Russian Tea Cookies. They are simply a shortbread cookie. The basic ingredients are flour, butter, vanilla, powdered sugar, and nuts (I prefer pecans). Also, they are a small bite size cookie, popular around Christmas time. I like to eat mine right out of the freezer!
