the Anatomy of a Pet Portrait

This is an original hand drawn and painted(by me)portrait of a pet the client commissioned me to do for them. Acyrlic on a 16X20 inch canvas,In keeping with the (primarily) graphic nature of my other pet portraits LOs I chose this block design. This is the first time I took pics as I went along painting this piece. Alas, "Toby" was picked up this A.M..Hated to see him go but was pleased with the happiness he brought to the client. The pics in the LO do not do the detail in the artwork justice, but, at least I have something to remember him by and can put this LO in my portfolio for prospective clients to see before committing to my work. P.S....copies of the photos she gave me are on the back of this lo(#1 pic of dog and #2 pic of beach)....she asked that I do a portrait of her dog w/ a beach scene behind the dog(it is a wedding gift for her future husband and they will be getting married on this spot Dec 19, of this year). :) The dog was not at the beach....I combined the 2 pics to make it look as if it was......I have no formal training, I was born this way :)
