This is the first page of 5 of Christmas morning pics from 2006 -- Cassie with her Santa stuff. Our family does separate gifts from Santa and us -- Santa's are unwrapped and spread out on the hearth. The ones Cassie gets from us are wrapped under the tree. For some reason, out of all the things she got from Santa, the only pics I took are of her with candy?? -- I must have been REALLY tired. The journaling is just a list of what she got from Santa - it was obscene that year (most years, actually). Cassie and I are both only children, so I have no filter at Christmas.

This is for Day 8 of the 12 Days of Sketches Challenge. The twist was to distress as much as possible. Here's what I did:
Crumpling: I crumpled parts of the music paper and smoothed them back out.
Tearing: I tore sections out of the edge of the music pp.
Scissoring: I scissor distressed the edges of the red holly pp.
Inking - Direct to Paper: I inked the edges of the red bg cardstock with Fired Brick, and the edge of the vellum scroll with gold.
Inking - Blending Tool: I used a blending tool to apply Antique Linen, then Tea Dye, then Vintage Photo inks to the edges of the music pp and randomly in the middle and over the crumpling and around/on the title. I did the same to the edge of the red holly pp with Fired Brick.
Folding: I folded the torn edges and scissored edges in random places.
Sanding: I used an emery board to sand frames onto the pictures, and over the title sticker to age it.
Filing: I used a metal file to rough up the edges/corners of the photos.
Misting: I sprayed Iridescent Gold Glimmer Mist on the red bg cs where it shows and in a few spots on the music pp. I also sprayed it on the mistletoe after I'd attached it to the page so it would fan out onto the pics.
Fraying: I frayed the ends of the laced ribbon.
Distressed Stitching: After I hand sewed the circles onto the page, I put tape over all of it on the back to keep it from pulling out so I could cut and fray the floss in random spots.
Paper rolling: I rolled and crumpled the vellum to make a scroll.
Edge Scissors: I used Deckle edge scissors to give a torn-look edge to the vellum.

I think that's it - TFL!
