The hidden journaling (in the pocket) reads:

November 6 – 8, 2009

This pocket with the heart on it represents a phone conversation with Jess and her children. She told them that rather than call her several times throughout the day while we were on our girls' weekend, they should stick all of their love in their pocket and give it to her when she got home. It's a pocket full of love.

Royanne made jokes about only having “one good eye”; hence, there is one single eye on the layout.

The little girl on the flower with the line through her represents Cathy's care-free attitude and enjoyment at being away for the weekend with just the girls.

Tara and Karla had us laughing a lot, so the word “laugh” represents them on the page. Karla also has a funny laugh. The word “wit” is on one of the flower petals relating to Tara's quick wit.

Finally, the music note represents me, because Jess said that I was signing when I thought no one was looking. In reality, though, I just thought everyone would enjoy my singing voice!

There are many girly things on the page, such as a tea set, shoes and perfume.

Tara and Karla were commenting about the colloquial terms “LOL” and “ROTFL,” which mean “laughing out loud” and “rolling on the floor laughing.” Since we were sitting on chairs, the new term created was “SOACL”—“sitting on a chair laughing.” This term is written on one flower petals and is the name of our new group—“The SOACL Group.”
