Our FAT lil’ Mama Cat Zipper! We found Zipper one cold spring night wondering around 12th street. Jeff and I felt bad for her since she was obviously an alley cat (no tags, skinny). So, we quickly snatched her up and took her back to our house. Sine we already had one cat (Zoe) we were apprehensive about bringing her into the house right away so we made her a comfy spot on an old couch in our garage. We gave her some food and water and went out and bought her a flea collar. The next night we tried introducing her to Zoe which didn’t go well. Zipper got too curious...Zoe growled...and then Zipper ran out the back door not to be seen again until a few days later. When we saw her the second time his we just KNEW we had to bring her in and make her our own regardless of what Zoe thought. ♥ Good thing we did since we soon found out Zipper was expecting!!! Zipper gave birth to five beautiful little kittens, 4 girls and a boy on April 29th 2003. The kittens were a delight to have around. It was an incredible experience watching her give birth and then tend to her litter. She was truly the perfect mom, protective and attentive yet playful and laid back. Jeff and I found homes for 3 of the kittens and decided to keep two for ourselves – Minnie (named so since she looked just like a mini version of Zipper) and Trouble (named so since she always got into trouble). Currently Zipper lives with Aunt Vicky and her family. We were not able to bring all the cats with us to Germany so Zipper found a temporary home with them until we move back…..However, from what we’ve been hearing Zipper has stolen their hearts and may just become a permanent member of Fuerst family. ♥
