this is something i lifted off of a really awesome tree i found on scrapbookect.com.. heres the link

http://www.scrapbooksetc.com/theme/family/genealogy/family-tree-scrapbook-album/

i couldnt find the right pp for this tree.. after 30 mins of lookin at my options, i decided on cardboard.. o BOY was that a tough one.. i started by making a template on blank computer paper then started to cut into the cardboard.. at least i attempted to!

the cardboard cuts pretty easily but its hard to tell if uve cut through all the layers of cardboard. it took me about 30 mins to just cut the tree out! of course it might have had to do with the fact that it was about 1am and i was TIRED by that point. :)

i traced the cardboard tree with an olive green paper and inked the cardboard and mat brown in some spots.

i freehanded the circles, title tag, and the title letters. i also doodled around teh trees "leaves" and title tag. for the last touch, i used a naked chipboard cutout on the border, used just a bit of brown ink to give it depth and wrote a few cool family heritage quotes down.

heres the journaling:

"other things may change us, but we start and end with family" Anthony Brondt.
"The family- that octopus from whose tentacles we never quite escape, nor in our inmost hearts, even quite wish to." Dodie smith
"In every conceivable manner, the family is the link to our past, bridge to the future."Alex Haley.
"I promise that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations." Spencer W Kimball.
