This is beautiful and such a heartfelt tribute, love the dark navy ribbon, its the perfect accent to all the blue. Love all the different shapes you have used here too :)
This is stunning. Your story above reminds me of my grandmas who were both like you have described your aunt to be. Sorry that you all have had to experience this loss. A loss to us is a gain to God and she must have some important people up there to see who have been missing her too. Take care!
OMGoodness!!! How touching!! How beautiful.. what a wonderful job you did on her layout.. I can see the love that went into this wonderful tribute to your Aunt. Your Aunt is going to be overwhelmed with the love from this layout.. I seen this one the featured page.. and I can see why!!
What a beautiful tribute to your dear Aunty! Your Aunt Gail will treasure your beautiful and remarkable work you have done here! So sorry for your loss... Big hugs Kaz
I made this wall hanging for my Aunt Gail for Christmas, whose Mother passed away (my Aunt Vermell) this past year. She never had a resume, 401K, fancy anything, but was truly a success in my book and with anyone who knew her. She was the most self-less, loving, kind, hard-working, home-grown cooking, woman...and had the most zelous laugh. Everyone was always welcome and she would feed you until you popped...even if she was broke, you would never know it. I love and miss her so much and just hope she knew what an impact she had on me & anyone who had the honor of knowing her. To make this, I used the orchid doodling template for the large dark blue "square" on chipboard and the dark blue vintage beauty memorabilia pp, then used the vintage beauty collection for everything except the cardstock (I matted for her photo) and the navy satin ribbon (hobby lobby). Of course, I had to ink & distress everything because once I get those in my hands, I can't seem to stop. Besides her photo and title "This is love" for sentimental reasons, my favorite part is the pleated blue and white ribbon that is part of the collection, that I just looped and adhered with a pearl brad in my stash. How easy is that? And it looks like I sewed it all together. "Mother" was typed on the computer & printed in navy on cream cardstock. The title below her photo reads "THIS IS LOVE", made by using the chipboard alpha pieces of same collection. I was going to add more to this, and had made some other things to go on it, but I decided to stop so I wouldn't take away from that lovely, sweet face. I loved you, Aunt Vermell, and now many more will see that beautiful, sweet face. I hope my Aunt Gail likes this and it doesn't upset her too much. She loved her Mama and it was so beautiful to see how she treated Aunt Vermell until the very end.
