Valerie - This is beautiful! This is the first "altered" item (not really alterd, but created - you know what I mean, I think) that I liked enough to want to make one. Thanks for the inspiration for the item as well as the affirmations!

Being a woman, my emotions are often out to get me; so I created a weapon :)

This is an altered wooden box containing several small cards displaying various affirmations & inspirational sayings to pull me out of an emotional funk when needed. When I'm feeling anxious, I use the "Don't Worry" card. If everything seems to be going wrong, I use the "Have Faith" card, etc. It sits on my desk with me as I work throughout the day, and when I'm ready to start scrapping - I pull out the inspirational cards!

The wooden box (99 cents) and wooden monogram by Provo Craft (another 99 cents) were both purchased at Michaels. The clip is made of galvanized steel wire, shaped with jewelry pliers, painted & lacquered. A dremmel was used to drill the holes for the wire and to bore the hole for the wood screw, holding the "V" in place.

Everything was first covered with black acrylic paint, then decorated with BasicGrey Embossed Vellum & Black Tie Diamante (the vellum is sanded to really bring out the pattern!)

- Paper Bliss monogram charm (I think)
- Making Memories antique copper brad
