I had so many pics of Lexie from Christmas morning 2006, I decided to put them all in a 2 pager dedicated to her. One pic from each portion of the morning is numbered to correspond to the journaling:
1. the Look (when we let her out of her crate in the morning, she would look down over the bridge and then:)
2. the Charge (she would tear down the stairs and run to the hearth to get to her stocking)
3. the Stocking
4. the Unwrapping (she ripped the paper off her own gifts)
5. the Enjoyment

I'm glad I had so many because this turned out to be the last Christmas that she really did all the things she'd always done -- being excited, ripping open her own packages, etc. In 2007, we got Abby, so the two dogs together made things a little different. By 2008, her last Christmas, Lexie's mind was far enough gone that she didn't really participate like she used to.
