With events of the past and not too recent past, unfortunately, this is the norm as someone already wrote. Our youngest son is in Army and is all too familiar with ..... Back in 1978, when terrorists were active in Europe, my husband & I got off a plane in Germany - German military personnel were at the bottom of the ramp with submachine guns.

What a world we live in...I remember when all there was in the terminals were folk singing and playing instruments for money!

I would freak out just having to take a bus twice a day!!! There are two stop lights in my little "village" and zero buses! Yep, I R N the sticks!

January 5 - Nervous Much?

Horrid cell phone photo but I wanted to share with you non-city folk. Taken in Port Authority Bus Terminal (NYC) where I go every day to catch my bus to/from NJ. These are four armed national guardsmen & women on patrol looking for any suspicious activities or threats. They carry assault weapons and gas masks along with various other military gear. I'm so used to it that I'm not TOO weirded out by it - but I'm sure some of you might be a bit alarmed.
