Journaling reads:

We may not have the type of relationship that they write songs about….the mushy, make you cry, unrealistic, floating on cloud nine all the time, type of love that the crooners seem to sing about.
We may not have the type of relationship that we will ever see splashed across the big screen….the type that is portrayed by actors that can't keep their hands off each other, the are always kissing and when they are away from each other for even 5 minutes they are sad. The never argue, always perfect, . The romance that is never interrupted by sick children, unrealistic and made up type of love.
We may not have the type of relationship that authors will write about in the next best seller. The full of drama, backstabbing and cheating that makes an interesting story. The type that wonder why they ever got together and can't stay apart unrealistic type of love.
BUT I can tell you that it is real, that without it an awesome thing in this crazy would be missing. It's the type of relationship where we are both independent and don't need to be with the other all the time but together we are spectacular. It's the type where we cuddle on the couch, watching a movie with our kids. It's the type where we argue because we both believe we are right but we also can admit when we are wrong and say we are sorry. It's the type that is passionate about each other and relish the time alone…..(when the kids aren't at the bedroom door because they had another bad dream) It's the type that the family comes before the individual. It is respectful, caring, real, true, loving, passionate, forgiving, compassionate, kind, thoughtful, gentle and helpful. It will never be in a song, movie or book but that is okay….to us it is
an epic love!
