OMG, this is soooo sweet and touching (sniff, sniff) I love the journaling and the design! and what patience you had to not tell until 30 weeks! Did you have to "censor" any baby talk around Mace?
This lo is about my ds finally learning that he's going to be a big brother. I kept it simple to try to keep the focus on the pic and journaling.
Journaling reads: We decided to wait to tell you that we were expecting another baby until later in my pregnancy. Everything we read said that it was best to wait until the last trimester to tell kids your age because the birth is close enough that you won’t lose interest, and you can clearly see that your Mama’s belly is much bigger than usual. So, after getting you settled into your toddler bed, we finally told you about the new baby when I was thirty weeks pregnant. I must admit that I was a little nervous about telling you because I wasn’t sure what you’re reaction would be. After all, it’s been just you and us for over two years. I needn’t have worried because when we told you that we were going to have another baby and that you were going to be a big brother, you were so excited and happy. We explained that the baby was growing in my belly (just like you did), and that’s why Mama has a bigger tummy. You immediately came over to me, lifted up my shirt, rubbed my belly, then kissed it. I was so thrilled that your reaction was so joyful and loving. Papa, then, proceeded to tell you that the baby could hear you, so you sang “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” to him, and read him a book. You’re definitely going to be a wonderful big brother Mace (February 7, 2006).
