Had a TON of fun creating this lo - more to the point, creating the tree!! Overall, very simple w/ little embellishment, but I think that's what this simple picture called for. So much expression on their faces, not much need for anything else!

Title was inspired by my idea for the tree plus the Laurie Berkner song of the same name. My girls used to LOVE her music.

The tree was inspired by my son's pop up Cars play tent. The old picture of Radiator Springs had a tree in it, and I mimicked it pretty well here.

The tree is ivory cardstock cut into 4 pieces. The little brances poking through the leaves are each one piece. Trunk is another and the leafy portion another. The leaves are Peeled Paint - tapped the pad on the mat, then misted with water, then sweeping the paper through. Heat gun & repeat. Then tapped on embossing ink a bit here & there, then clear embossing powder, and heat. Then took the felt applicator tool & rubbed in the Tea Dye. The trunk & branches are Tea Dye & Vintage Photo.

Font for title is Holtzschue from Dafont.com. LOVE it - it's under the Western category. Tea Dye around the title borders.

Journaling reads:

The joys of a childhood summer... a simple tire swing and one grandfather to push them... June 2009 MVY

Sticker on bottom of photo reads:

fun (fun) 1. lively, joyous play or playfulness; pleasure 2. a source of amusement

My dad found the tire swing online & ordered it with our kids in mind. He hung it and they LOVE it - especially when he pushes them or spins them round and round. They just LOVE going to my parents' house for vacation - a fun backyard to romp in, a hammock, and a LOT of beach for sand castle building. (They live on MVY off Cape Cod.)
