I am fascinated by this! I love the story about your grandparents and their house, and also how you've documented who live where and when they lived there and also that you lived there! This is what scrapping is all about! I hope you have recorded all that on a hidden tag someplace, where years from now your descendants will be able to read it and know just why you scrapped it!! Awesome job on the door and love the lock too! Perfect for the challenge too!
What a wonderful story and photo......and LOVE all the rustic colors and elements you used to create just the right cozy nostalgic look for this page!! Awesome work!!
Mary, this is awesome! You put a lot of love and effort into making this page special. Love every detail. Sherwood is such a pretty area of Oregon! I'm sure this page will be treasured by generations to come.
Wow, how creative! I love the door and the metal works. The scroll is beautiful and goes great with the metal on the door! I like the mix of colors and the distress of the paper. Really nice layout of your grandparents home! Gorgeous!
Ohh....that is so pretty!! I love, love, love how yo made the door and put the name on it! The flourishes are so pretty and I love how you did the title! Great job!
my maternal grandparents and their sweet little home in Sherwood Oregon. They first lived in the section in the front which was a one room cabin in 1936 with my mom and my uncle... they later moved back to the midwest, then to various places in Washington but finally got back here after the war. They then lived here till they died in 1988 and 1993 respectively...now my cousin lives there. My uncle lives next door and I lived there too for awhile. On this property is also where the redwood tree dedicated to my mom grows. Done for the Why Did I Buy This challenge. The lock and metal frames around their photos are ones I have had since I first started scrapping... I made the frame for the house photo in two layers and used several layers of paint and crackle... Made the door to reflect a door on the house, scored the lines then inked. The house charm and the name plate I 'antiqued' to go with the other metal using Stazon... the flowers were from my friend Mel
