Each month I will do a 2 page spread that recaps that month. Some of it will be big moments and some just moments. Here is January. (part of my new years resolution...so I'm off to a good start!)

The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 Mw earthquake. Its epicenter was near Léogâne, approximately 25 km (16 miles) west of Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. The earthquake occurred at 16:53 local time (21:53 UTC) on Tuesday, 12 January 2010, at a depth of 13 km (8.1 miles). By 24 January the United States Geological Survey had recorded at least 52 aftershocks measuring 4.5 or greater. Haitian President Rene Preval stated on 27 January that "nearly 170,000" bodies had been counted. The New York Times reported on 28 January that 20,000 commercial buildings and 225,000 residences had collapsed or were severely damaged.
On the right page in the folder:
1/28/2010 I had sent a text message to Kaiti asking her to pick up a few items at the store that included dishwasher detergent. A couple hours later Patrick had to take me to Urgent Care because the pain of my migraine was beyond bearable. While I'm lying on the table trying to find a position that was not making my head explode my phone rings. Patrick says it is a text from Kaiti wanting to know what kind of dishwasher detergent to buy. I told Patrick I didn't care and so he sent her a message. Several minutes pass and the phone rings again. I hear Patrick laughing so I ask him what he did. He shows me the phone.
Kaiti 2:50 pm What kind of dishwasher detergent?
Patrick 2:53 pm Anything with animal fat in it.
Kaiti 3:12 pm I hope you are kiddng cuz none of them have that.
Patrick 3:13 pm What?
Kaiti 3:14 pm No dishwashing detergent has animal fat.
She loves me enough that she looked for 15 minutes at the ingredients on the bottles! Poor girl! So when I get up from my nap I notice the “New and improved” bottle of dishwasher soap on the counter!!
