This month Imaginisce is also doing a sketch challenge -- check it all out on the Imaginisce blog.

Here's the sketch:

I already did one layout for this challenge but I really wanted to stretch the sketch to two pages. Alot of scrappers love sketches but many sketches are single pagers -- for busy scrappers who love alot of pics on a page or matching facing pages, sketches just don't seem to work all the time.

An easy way to stretch a sketch like this one from a single pager to a double is to identify "stretchable" parts, like the strips on this sketch. These are things you can either repeat or stretch over to the other page of your two page layout to create a cohesive layout. If you're not immediately seeing how to stretch a sketch to two pages, rotate it until "stretchable" parts appear.

My sister gave me these school pics of my nephew a few months ago and those class pics are always difficult to scrap--they take up so much of the page, it is difficult to embellish, plus do you really want a WHOLE page for that class pic. Don't know if there is a way to get around that second problem but for the first one I just kept the embellies on the class pic page minimal, repeating something from the main page to help bring it all together.

I've been hoarding this Imaginisce paper for a few months and it was just perfect for these pics because I could cut out the little "Kindergarten" word block from the paper and use it on the page.
