SHCG: The trakking for this month made me realize that I better go back and see what I missed, and here it is. I thought I commented on this. Sorry about the delay. I like the pattern on the bg pp, and I really like what the red rose pp mats add to it. I also think numbering the captions was a good way of dealing with sequencing the pics. You requested suggestions for adding elements, and I can see spots where more of the signature Sharon handcut waves could be useful, particularly below and right of #20 and below #21. I'd have it wrap around the bottom left corner of #18 and lead to #19, then up from the top of #19 and curve toward #20, then reverse curve to over 23 until it reaches #21, and then from under #21 to #22. I think all of this will add to the sequencing, connect the photos in the bottom third with the center strip, and divert the attention to the negative space that is in the center of your spread. Lots of great photos here, and the stars are perfect solid embellishments throughout.
SHCG: All of the textures and photos on this page are really wonderful and perfect for holiday parties. Once again, I would suggest adding some larger embellishments that really pop out. I loved reading your little journaling strips.
SHCG:This is such fun! I love the bg paper! The stickled border is perfect here! I also love the stars and the journaling strips on the photos! The only thing I have to suggest is the way the top half is right now with the photos it feels a little bit heavy to me. My be you can switch the photo placement and do the photos on the bottom like the once on the top right now and then place the once on the top like the once on the bottom right now. Confused yet?! I hope not!
SHCG: Again, I like your Stickled mat. :) Even though the pp is busy and there are a lot of photos, I could see some additional large holiday theme embellies on these pages in the open spaces. Very cool festive pages!
SHCG: Love the paper! I feel like I spent each day with you. Great photos. The matting is, again, awesome. And the stickles...nicely done. It is very cool to see that the building and your apartment decorated for H and C. The "flashback" comment is so cute. Great job! You stepped up to this challenge wonderfully.
This is my response to Brenda/twinscrapbee's challenge for Scrap Happenzz Critique Group, "Advent Calendar," to either scrap an advent calendar, a holiday-related top 25 list or holiday-related pictures-of-the-day for 25 days. I chose the last option, w/ my response being two 2-pagers. I always thought the P365 concept was so cool but knew I couldn't do it for a year - but I COULD do it for 25 days!
Both my 2-pagers for this challenge started out based on the right side of Sketches by Suzy's #73 sketch but then they morphed into something else because I was trying to keep the pics in order (I goofed on placing #3 in order but I dealt w/ it). By the Pt 2 LO, things got a little mixed up because of the vertical shots, oh well… As usual, my scanner cropped out the edges of the pages; there's more margin IRL than seen here. I blurred out my sister's last name in one pic for privacy.
I wanted a pp matte around groups of photos for this so I arranged the pics on the matte paper 1st, then I handcut the matte. Because the background pp was so lively, I Stickled the outer perimeter of the pics to emphasize them more. Hard to see in the scans how shiny a few elements are – the Stickles, the foil cs title, the glitter mattes in Pt 1 & the glitter background in Pt 2 – they look better in person! The Icicle Stickles was a giftie from Chell Rae – thanks Michelle!
The stars are grungeboard; I outlined them on the Cricut then handcut & inked silver.
Thanks, Brenda, for the fun challenge! I really enjoyed my little Project 25.
