Isn't she cute? She is faded terribly but her face and hair are still perfect. I fixed the broken lantern behind her and reattached her zither. He arms still move to "play" the strings but most of the strings need to be replaced. As a teenager I stupidly replaced the silk inthe front with bright yellow cloth and painted the box black as the original red seemed gaudy to me at the time. So now, do I spend more time and money trying to restore her? Strings, paint, cloth, and new music box? Or is she done for? I am having a hard time making this decision. She needs a lot of work and she is made of cheap wood that is all dried out.
