I have never heard of the cap and spring ones. LOVE the blue ones and always wanted to have about three of them sitting in a window. Such a pretty photo this makes.

That is some button collection! I've never seen "cap & spring" jars. I have a couple of the others though that belonged to my G-grandma. I have colored bells in mine!

POD...FEB #12/15... Jars/Button

2-17-10...My friend Ann's house is like a museum, every time I visit I find something to take a picture of. Today I noticed these jars of buttons sitting on the window sill. The clear ones are wide-mouth Kerr Economy jars with "cap & spring clips". The blue ones are Ball Ideal jars, they have a glass lid & a wire "bail" clamp. They were called "lightning jars" because the metal clamps made the lids 'lightning quick" to seal and remove. [P2175845]
