An Ode To Barbie.

For over 20 years, my grandmother use to work for Mattel's Toy Company.

Growing up, I use to literally play with Barbie for hours upon hours. She was my most favorite friend & toy! My fondest memories of play, were the days when my cousin would come over and or we'd go to her house to play with her Malibu Barbie House!

I think I recieved a Barbie, etc. every single year, up until around age 14 (which was old back then!)...aka my friends were into spending their time & cash on movies, music, clothes, etc.

Even though I temporarily outgrew Barbie, she is in fact very much still a part of my life.

I still have every last catalog, dress & doll. I have a collection of over 100 dolls & various collectibles. I originally was going to restart my collection, however, during an overseas move in 2000, my New In The Box Millennium Barbie was stolen, and that was enough of a deterent for me to call it quits!

So, instead, I've since went on to treasure the ones that I do have, as well as those that I've since passed along to my children (& eventually ones held onto for my future grandchildren someday!)

Otherwise, what is Barbie, but a toy trapped in a box! (as learned from the Disney movie Toy Story!)
