This is wonderful!!! I love the whole experience of a child learning to write their name! It's so cool that you have the pictures to commemorate this!!
I am sorry I did miss this one :(
I love your choice of colors - really goes with the pics well. The 3 flowers are a great touch. This is a darling LO.
ITs hard to believe I will be scrapping this title someday!!! Your title goes great with the theme of the LO Dont change a thing,,, Great Job i dont like when a page is overdone I always perfer simple!!!!!
So glad you added a link to your lo for the sketch challenge, because I had missed this lo of yours and it is FABULOUS! You have such a wonderful eye for color, and what a great milestone in your DS life to scrap. Love this lo!!! TFS :)
Hey Dawn - your handwriting is really nice! I wouldn't redo it. This is really pretty and simple (or should I say 'handsome' since it's your little guy?!).
I think this is awesome too, the only thing I can think of is what Cindy said, maybe put his name somewhere that you can read it better. I really like the handwritten title myself. And I love the simplicity of the design. I think it's a great lo!!!
Hey! I'm so jealous. I wish I had a photo this great. What a wonderful memory. I to love how you played on the black stripes from his shirt. I would try adding another black stripe above the top one but smaller, 1/3 the width of the one you already have on there. I love the handwriting title. However, I would center it horizontally and vertically. Or have your son write his name under your title. Great Job. Melisa
Oh Dawn, the first thing I thought was FANTASTIC DESIGN! I love the way you combined those papers with red CS! I love the stripes to "hold" everything together! His handwritten name in the blue-gray block sounds great, but I wouldn't change anything else. Another fantastic layout! I LOVE your style, girl!!
I love the simplicity of this..I agree too that maybe some journaling hiding somewhere would be great because this is such a milestone for him...The colors are awesome together and the theme of this is great (nice handwriting BTW!LOL I'm jealous, my hw stinks!!) Your son is going to love looking back at all the special moments his mom captured for him!! Well Done!
This is terrific!!! Love the color combo and the simplicity of the design. I too like the idea of having your ds write his name and putting it on one of the rectnagles between the pics with the date on the other. LOVE the handwritten title, it's perfect for this lo; great work :)

Great Simplistic Scale and style. Love the rich Colors. I'm with the other gals (can't see pic very well on scan) but you could have him write his name on one of the center recs or under your title. But I like it as is.
I like the way you used the colors of his shirt to do the page! Wonderful idea ;) I think the handwritten title is great! I also like the idea of writing his name, perhaps on the grey block in the middle. The date should indeed be written here too (perhaps on the lower right corner of the strip, beneath the pic where he's holding his handwritten name). Awesome work! :d
I love it! The handwritten title looks great and works perfectly with the subject. I think the three flowers are enough embellishments. It looks finished, and wonderful!
This is really nice. I like it simple. (I think I've been bit by the simple bug. ;) ) Love the colors. The handwritten title is nice and very appropriate for the page. I like the idea of having him write his name. Maybe on the greyish colored block in the middle? I would also add the date since this is a pretty big deal. Nice work! What a treasure. :)
Such a great moment, and a great layout documenting it. I love the colors and the simplicity. The handwritten title is perfect for the subject. Much as I hate to think of you changing anything, in 20 years when you look at this page will you be sorry not to have some journaling telling the story? Maybe there's a place to hide some that wouldn't take away from the page balance?
I love the simplicity Dawn. The pictures are beautiful and your paper choices are perfect.
I wouldn't change the handwritten title - seems appropriate since the LO is about handwriting, kwim? The only other thing I can think of is maybe add his name somewhere since it's hard to make out in the picture (that might just be a scan issue, so ignore at will! :-D ) Maybe small rub-ons or stamped letters for his name on the blue block between the pictures. You could even do them vertically at one end of the block so they aren't so noticeable and wouldn't "fight" with your title for attention.
Great LO!
I like the handwritten title - but I am big on handwriting all my stuff. I can't think of any other embellishment I would use on the page, except maybe have your son write his name on a piece of cardstock, then you could add that to the page. Otherwise, I like the look of the lo - it completely suits the pics and subject matter. Also, the colors look great together.
My ds when he first wrote his name by himself in the order they were suppose to come. He always before would spell his name backwards!! I did a pretty simple LO here. But what I need to know is if I need to redo the title. I handwrote it myself. And do you think I need to add any other embellishment to this!! Is it to simple!!?? Or what!!?? Thanks for looking!! ~*Dawn*~
