WOW, I am tired and inspired at the same time. Three cheers for you, your house will be beautiful and you will have tripled its worth!! You are my hero.
LOL...I've worked in the living room of my old house, current house has been the living room, dining room and kitchen (island)! We do what we have to do! So glad it is getting cut and installed! Your plans sound great!
Wow! You still have a mighty long list of projects! At one time I looked into the heated floor coils when we were thinking about laying ceramic tile down.
Yeah, this is what my living room looked like yesterday. I did clean it all up after we were done, but what a mess. Because we don't have a garage or a usable basement, it was easiest for FIL to set his miter saw up in my living room on a big sheet of plastic.
Kate - this will probably be the next project on our list. :) Here's the basic list of what will happen in this room. - rip off the bead board (you can see a little piece between the tv and patio door) - rip off faux brick behind fireplace - rip out carpet - rip out fireplace, and both units beside it - replace patio door
- put down floor heating coils - pour new layer of cement - build a custom entertainment unit and fireplace combo that will take up that whole back wall - drywall bottom half of walls (I don't think there is any drywall under that bead board) - we will probably need to add more or better insulation to that back wall
We'd like to have it done by next winter, but we will see what happens. Even if we could get the floor done, that would be a big help.
