The Swirlydoos technique add-on for March is a mosaic frame, something very different for me. It was a lot of fun to put together and it gave me a perfect way to frame this photo.
These are my parents in the summer of 1943. My father was on leave before being shipped overseas to England. This picture was in the album that he took with him; he filled it with a lot of “back home” photos, as well as with pictures of his service in the war. I decided to leave on the border and the image of the photo corners.
I decided to use the gold paper as my background. I very lightly stamped it with the Grass stamp and then cut up and distressed the pp to layer under the photo. I spread an uneven layer of distress on the photo for a crackle effect.
