Pat, Melinda, and I coloring Easter eggs with our Dad in 1985.

Journaling says:
One of my favorite parts of Easter was coloring the eggs. It was one of the few times that Mom allowed us to make a mess. She would boil dozens of eggs. Then her and Dad would set up the table. Lots of newspapers. We would get out bunches of mugs for the different colors. Then we would follow the directions on the package and put the coloring tablets in the water and watch them disolve. Then it was time for the magic to begin. It was so neat to watch the pristine white eggs be transformed into vibrant shades of blue, pink, and yellow. It was fun to mix the colors to see what we could create. Mom and Dad never hid the real eggs, but would use them for breakfast on Easter morning. It was such a fun process.
